The Best Mexican Food in Forest Grove: A Local's Guide
See why La Sierra has been a Forest Grove favorite for authentic Mexican dining since 2000, and exactly what to order when you visit.

If you are looking for the best Mexican food in Forest Grove, La Sierra has been the answer for over 25 years. We are the oldest family owned Mexican restaurant in town, opened by Felix Lopez in 2000, and the reason we are still here is simple. We cook authentic food from family recipes, we make our salsas and guacamole fresh, and we treat every guest like they walked into our home. This is a guide to what makes the food what it is, and what to order when you come.
A Family Kitchen Since 2000
La Sierra started as one family's dream and grew into a Forest Grove landmark. Felix spent years in Mexican kitchens before opening his own place on Pacific Avenue, and the recipes he brought with him are the same ones we cook today. The chile colorado still simmers in house made red chile sauce. The carnitas are still slow cooked until golden. The mole is still blended with chiles, spices and a hint of chocolate. Nothing here is shortcuts. You can read more about our story on the home page.
What to Order First
If it is your first visit, start with the La Sierra Burrito, packed with carne asada, rice, beans and pico de gallo, then topped with burrito sauce, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. From there, the Sizzling Fajitas are a must, served on cast iron with warm tortillas and all the fixings. For seafood, the Camarones A La Diabla brings shrimp in a medium spicy red sauce, and the Cielo, Mar Y Tierra combines grilled chicken, shrimp and carne asada on one plate. You can browse everything on our menu.
Don't Skip the Cantina
The food is half the story. The other half is the cantina. Our margaritas are poured with fresh lime and a careful hand, and the Cadillac Margarita and Mangonada are two of the most ordered drinks in Forest Grove. Happy hour runs every day from 2 PM to 5 PM with $7 margaritas, a special happy hour menu, and discounts on appetizers. See the full lineup on our drinks page.
